This unit provides an introduction to the contexts within which the internet exists. It will give the learner a broad appreciation of how the internet was conceived and developed, as well as an understanding of the ways in which it has evolved and is used in a business context. The unit will allow the student to investigate those implications of internet-based infrastructures that will require sensitive handling in the development of e-business markets. Implicit in the delivery of this unit is the need to investigate and assess current developments and identify key implications for e-business.
